Spots

We use several spots for learning and snowkiting.

We select riding locations based on wind direction, surface conditions, and the location most convenient for the student.

The main lakes we use are:

Pigeon Lake. This lake is the largest of the lakes where we conduct training. This lake is great for snowkiting because of its size and gentle shores, which do not block the wind and therefore you can ride on it even in very low winds.

This spot is suitable for south westerly, southerly and south easterly winds.

Please note that there is no parking lot right next to the water, but there is a parking lot a little further away from the spot.

This spot is suitable for winds blowing from the north and north east.

There is a large parking lot and restroom facilities.

Wabamun Lake. This lake is also good for snowkiting. We choose it if the student is closer to this lake.

Please note that there is a power plant on this lake and snowkiting near this power plant can be dangerous, as the ice in the area of the power plant can be thin, even in extreme cold.

This spot is well suited for southerly and westerly winds.

There is convenient parking and restroom facilities at this spot.

Ste. Anne Lake (Alberta Beach).

This spot is suitable for west and northwest winds.

This spot has convenient parking and restroom facilities.
